This synergy was marked by the signing of cooperation through various universities in Indonesia, as well as various companies in Indonesia, Tuesday (13/2) at the Harmoni One Hotel and Convention Center, Batam City, Riau Islands Province. The signing of this collaboration was carried out in line with the Unri Development Plan Deliberation (Musrenbang) for the 2019 Budgeting.
Unri Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ir Aras Mulyadi DEA, said that with the holding of this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) it is hoped that in the future Unri and partners can synergize with each other in the development of education and the development of human resources in Riau Province in particular. “Unri currently has as many as 1100 lecturers spread over ten faculties according to their respective fields of science. The human resources owned by Unri are ready to synergize with partners for the development of education in particular," said the Chancellor.

The current Unri, continued the Chancellor, besides being large in terms of quantity, quality is also proud, this can be seen from Unri's ranking which is included in the top 20 universities in Indonesia. “Unri currently has many achievements both at the national and even international levels. This pride cannot be separated from the cooperation of various parties. We hope that we can maintain this partnership for our mutual progress,” he continued.
On a different occasion, the Deputy Chancellor for Planning, Cooperation and Information Systems Unri Prof. Dr. Mashadi MSi said that there were ten Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) and eighteen Memorandums of Agreement (MoA) of cooperation that we signed with partners in various fields, including the field of education, teaching, community service, and human resource development, technology and partnerships.

“The signing of the MoU and MoA is one of the efforts to support the development of Unri. In addition, this collaboration will serve as a process of negotiation, reconciliation, and harmonization between Riau University and partners. In the field of research, for example, universities are required to focus on programs to increase research productivity, so that the lecturers' research can enter the realm of industry and of course will have an economic impact on the community, "explained Mashadi.
To achieve that, continued Mashadi, Unri would not be able to do all of that without cooperation with various parties, including companies engaged in the industry itself. “We only have the resources of researchers, but for the implementation, those who can do it, of course, are industry people. This is what we have always done for the development of the University through collaboration with various partners," added Mashadi.

The eleven MoU partners consisting of universities, provincial governments, and companies that will collaborate with Unri include the Raja Ali Haji Maritime University (UMRAH), the Padang Panjang Indonesian Art Institute, Indragiri Tembilahan Islamic University, Tuanku Tambusai Hero University, Andalas University Padang. .
In addition, there are also MoUs with the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII), PT Triputra Agro Persada, PT Unisem Batam, PT Epson Batam. In addition to the MoU, there will also be a MoA signing between various faculties at Riau University and faculties at various universities that have made MoUs with Unri.
The signing of this MoU is a reinforcement of the Implementation of the University of Riau Development Plan Deliberation Activities (Musrenbang) for Budgeting in 2019. This is in line with the theme of the UR Musrenbang, "Strengthening the Relevance of Planning for Riau University Based on Industry 4.0", in this activity presenting the main resource person from the Inspectorate General Higher Education Kemenristekdikti, so that the program compiled by Unri is in line with the policies recommended by the Ministry.
