University of Riau (UR) in collaboration with the Regional Representatives Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) held a Discussion and Friendly Meeting to discuss the Implications of Law No. 23 of 2014 on the politics of Budget Transfers to the Regions, Tuesday (17/5), in the House Hall Riau University Hospital.
“This activity is administrative support and expertise from UR to DPD RI in accordance with the 1945 Constitution, Law Number 17 of 2014, and DPD RI Regulation Number 01 of 2016. Therefore, UR greatly appreciates the members of DPD RI who has made academics at UR as part of the place to provide ideas and input on government policies," said the Rector of UR, Prof. Dr. Ir Aras Mulyadi DEA.
The same thing was conveyed by a member of the DPD RI Riau Province, Drs Abdul Gafar Usman MM, according to him, dialogue like this is very necessary because UR is one of the higher education institutions in the region, so UR certainly knows what problems are happening in the region.
“UR has academics that we really need to provide recommendations and input related to policies made by the center. Therefore, in accordance with our function in the DPD RI, we hope that UR can also empower us as facilitators to streamline coordination between local governments and the central government, in finding solutions to problems in the regions, "said Gafar.
