The commemoration of National Technology Awakening Day (Hakteknas) which is held regularly every August 10, is realized through the Technology Innovation Exhibition from various agencies in Indonesia organized by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti). This exhibition also provides a space for the campus community to display various innovations in the RiTech Expo exhibition as part of the 2016 Hakteknas which was held at the Solo City Sports Building (GOR), Surakarta, Central Java.
The exhibition with the theme “Innovation for National Independence and Competitiveness” which was held on 10-13 August 2016 departed from the idea of Innovation with the principles of better , cheaper , and faster , without forgetting the quality and uniqueness of resources developed with a touch of science and technology. Auriada Aman MPd, Head of Information and Public Relations of the University of Riau (UR) said that on this occasion UR presented various research products of students and lecturers, such as research journals and other inventions that had been made at UR.
"The UR Exhibition Stand at the RiTech Expo is to encourage the improvement of science and technology capabilities followed by strengthening of national innovation to support the independence and competitiveness of the Indonesian nation, in its success in utilizing and developing science and technology into competitive innovation products, It is also a means to develop public awareness about science and technology culture in everyday life,” he concluded.
On this occasion, not only universities will get space to showcase their innovative works, industry and private parties will also get the opportunity to display their works as a form of implementation of the spirit of National Technology Awakening. (wendy) ***
