UR Strengthens Cooperation with PT Sumatra Environmental Management and UIN Suska Riau

unri.ac.id . Thursday (18/8), Riau University (UR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (Mou) with PT Sumatra Environmental Management and Sultan Syarif Kasim Islamic University Riau. This signing is a UR development activity in the fields of education, research and community service. The signing was carried out in the DPH Room on the 2nd floor of the UR Rectorate Building, Bina Widya Campus Pekanbaru.

Prof. Dr. Ir Aras Mulyadi DEA, Chancellor of UR, said that the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding was very useful in developing the fields of education, research, and service. “Currently UR has nine faculties and one study program since 1962. In addition, UR also has four large campus locations with a total of 31,000 active students, and recently has also accepted 7,771 students. This is a worthy potential for UR to be developed in these three sectors.”

At the meeting, Dulas Menam Ritonga, President Director of PT Sumatra Environmental Management in his speech expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be able to contribute to the University of Riau as a government institution in the field of education. "We are ready to provide experts as a tool to improve research and hope this collaboration goes well."

On the same occasion, Prof. Dr. H Munzir Hitami MA, Chancellor of the Syarif Kasim State Islamic University Riau in his speech also expressed his hopes for the collaboration with UR. “Currently, we see that the health sector is growing rapidly in Riau Province. Therefore, UIN hopes that through this collaboration it can also be a support in the development of the field in question, considering that currently UR already has a hospital as a health program aimed at the field of education, research and public service."

The signing of the MoU was attended by the Vice Chancellor for General Affairs and Finance, Deputy Chancellor for Planning, Cooperation and Information Systems, Director of the International Affairs Office, UR Hospital Staff, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Head of Bureau, Head of Section, Head of Subdivision, invitees and several representatives from UR and PT PT Sumatra Environmental Management.
