UNRI Holds Distance Learning E-Learning Training for Lecturers, Partnering with Universitas Terbuka

Unrinews. The University of Riau (UNRI) held a Distance Learning (PJJ) E-Learning Training for UNRI teaching staff (lecturers). This activity was a collaboration between UNRI and the Open University (UT) Investment and Business Management Center and took place from September 15–17, 2025, in the Indragiri Room, 4th Floor, UNRI Rectorate Building.

This training was conducted in order to support the implementation of distance learning (PJJ) at UNRI, while strengthening the ability of lecturers to utilize e-learning technology as an effective modern learning tool.

Three speakers from the Open University (Universitas Terbuka) presented: Dr. Triny Prasasti, MPd, Dr. Andy Sapta, SPd, MPd, MSi, and Sonasa Rinusantoro, SKom. They shared their experiences and strategies for managing e-learning-based distance learning.

The training participants were representative lecturers from five study programs at UNRI, namely the Undergraduate Guidance and Counseling Study Program, the Undergraduate Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education, the Undergraduate Program in Chemical Engineering, the Masters Program in Elementary Education, and the Masters Program in Economics.

The activity was officially opened by the Chancellor of Riau University, Prof. Dr. Sri Indarti SE MSi, who on this occasion was represented by
Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of UNRI, Dr Mexsasai Indra SH MH in his remarks, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration with the Open University.

"We hope this training will provide lecturers with a deeper understanding of the implementation of e-learning, thereby improving the quality of distance learning services at UNRI," he said.

Also present were the Head of the UNRI Educational Quality Assurance and Development Institute (LPPMP), Dr. Belli Nasution MA and the Head of the Distance Learning Program, Dr. Elfis Suanto MSi.

Through this activity, UNRI affirmed its commitment to continue innovating in teaching methods and strengthening collaborative networks with other universities to improve the quality of higher education in Indonesia (Nico, Photo: Budi)
