Unrinews. University of Riau (UNRI) and University of Riau Islands (UNRIKA) officially signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) as a strategic step to strengthen cooperation in the fields of education, research, and community service. The signing was carried out by the Rector of University of Riau, Prof. Dr. Sri Indarti, SE, M.Si and the Rector of University of Riau Islands, Prof. Dr. Hj. Sri Langgeng Ratnasari, SE, MM which took place in the Kunto Darussalam Room, Rectorate Building of University of Riau (09/09/2025)
In his remarks, the Chancellor of UNRI stated that this collaboration is a concrete manifestation of the commitment of both universities to improving the quality of human resources, research, and innovation.
"Through this synergy, we hope to create a stronger education ecosystem and contribute positively to regional and national development," he said.
Meanwhile, the Chancellor of UNRIKA added that this understanding opens the door for collaboration in various fields, ranging from student and lecturer exchanges, joint research, to joint community service programs.
"We are confident that this collaboration will provide significant benefits to both institutions and the wider community," he stressed.
The warmly-attended event was attended by the leaders of both universities and the Vice Deans III from all faculties within UNRI. Their presence demonstrated their support for the two campuses' strategic initiatives to strengthen synergy in education, research, community service, and student development.
This memorandum of understanding also serves as an important momentum to strengthen academic networks and increase the competitiveness of higher education institutions in the global era. (Budi, photo, Budi)
