Unrinews. The Socialization and Promotion Team of the University of Riau (UNRI) will conduct outreach to high schools in the regencies/cities in Riau Province in order to promote the New Student Admissions (PMB) Pathway of the University of Riau for the 2024/2025 Academic Year.
The socialization to the Regency and City which will be held on January 22-30, 2024 is aimed at Principals, Teachers, and Students in Senior High Schools who will continue their education to Higher Education.
Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. Mexsasai Indra SH MH, who was represented by the Assistant Staff to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. Rahman Karnila SPi MSi, during the PMB Socialization briefing, stated that information on the acceptance of new students needs to be conveyed to schools in the regions.
"This year, there are several changes to the selection process for new student admissions at UNRI. Therefore, UNRI will conduct outreach to schools in regencies/cities across Riau Province, so that principals and teachers can understand the new 2024 student admission scheme for students who wish to pursue higher education at UNRI," Rahman explained.
Changes to the new student admission scheme include, in the independent PBUD (Regional Superior Seed Search) and PBM (Talent and Interest Search) pathways, which previously used report card scores, starting in 2024, UNRI will use the Computer-Based Written Exam (UTBK).
In addition to the independent pathway, changes to the regulations have also occurred in the National Selection for New Student Admissions (SNPMB). One of the changes in the 2024 SNPMB is that applicants accepted through the achievement pathway are no longer permitted to register for the Test-Based National Selection (SNBT). Those accepted through the SNBT pathway are no longer permitted to register for the independent pathway.
"We need to communicate new schemes like this to schools so that students in the regions can also obtain clear and accurate information, so that official information on new student admissions is well socialized to prospective students who want to continue their education at state universities, especially at UNRI," he hoped.
A total of 13 regencies/cities were the venues for the Socialization and Promotion of New Student Admissions at the University of Riau, including Kampar, Rokan Hulu, Rokan Hilir, Duri, Dumai, Meranti Islands, Pelalawan, Siak, Indragiri Hulu, Indragiri Hilir, Bengkalis, Kuansing, Kampar Kiri and the surrounding areas.
