The Review Mission Team of the Advance Knowledge and Skills for Sustainable Growth Project – Asian Development Bank (AKSI-ADB) visited the University of Riau (UNRI) from Tuesday to Wednesday (May 23-24, 2023). This Review Mission was conducted because UNRI is one of four universities receiving building and equipment assistance from the AKSI-ADB Project.

Sutarum Wiryono, Head of the ADB Review Mission Team, was accompanied directly by the Chancellor of UNRI Prof. Dr. Sri Indarti SE MSi, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. Mexsasai Indra MSi, Vice Chancellor for General Affairs and Finance Dr. Agus Sutikno SP MSi, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Alumni Dr. Hermandra SPd MA, Vice Chancellor for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems Dr. Ir. Sofyan Siregar MPhil.

"This review mission aims to assess the progress of the buildings funded by the AKSI-ADB project. We urge the contractors appointed to complete the project to promptly complete the work according to the targets stipulated in the contract agreement," Sutarum said.

After holding a meeting with the UNRI Leadership, the UNRI ADB AKSI PIU Project Manager, the UNRI ADB Project Commitment Making Officer (PPK), the ADB Review Mission team then conducted a review of 10 buildings currently under construction.

Construction of 10 new buildings at UNRI from the ADB AKSI Project, namely the Integrated Classroom Building, Integrated Laboratory Building, Health Studies Complex, University of Riau Multipurpose Building (Student Center), Marine Science Study Building (Boat House Marine Center), Food Science Study Building (Food Science Center), Information and Communication Technology Building (Information Technology Center), University of Riau Library Building (University Main Library), Postgraduate Building (Postgraduate Center), and University of Riau Education and Training Building (University Training Center).

At each building he visited, Sutarum spoke with the person in charge of each contractor regarding the progress of construction, any obstacles encountered, and the steps taken to ensure the project's completion on schedule. (mukmin. ed: rion. photo: m.rizki) ***
