unri.AC ID. Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arcandra Tahar PhD delivered material at a public lecture in front of students of the University of Riau (Unri) in the Siak Indrapura Room, 26th Floor, Rectorate Building, Bina Widya Campus, Unri, Tuesday (3/2019/XNUMX).
Arcandra delivered a presentation on the Role of Higher Education in Generating New Innovations in the Energy and Mineral Resources Sector. "The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources continues to strive to maximize existing potential to achieve energy security in the outermost, most disadvantaged, and most frontier regions," Arcandra explained.
Furthermore, Arcandra took the opportunity to encourage Unri students to be more productive in their lives. "Students should continue to think about doing something more beneficial, rather than doing something useless like solving the problems they currently face."
He believes today's students must be able to generate new ideas and see the problems they encounter as opportunities. "Don't keep complaining when you encounter obstacles in your work, from material obstacles to regulations, and so on. Cultivate positive thinking so that life can improve," he said.
"Currently this nation is lagging behind because it is still oriented towards human resources which makes people passive, waiting to be ordered, to determine their salary and how long they work in one day. While abroad there, they have changed their orientation from human resources menjadi human capital "This makes humans more active, which means that future industries will require brains rather than brawn," explained Arcandra.
“This change will create jobs that originate from human Resources "will disappear. Of course, students must prepare themselves as best they can," he concluded. (wendi. photo: roger). ***
