unri.ac.id Following up on the implementation of the "Planting 1000 Trees" movement activity at the University of Riau (UR) which is planned for Thursday, March 2, 2017, the organizing team has confirmed that a number of UR partners will take part and be present in a series of activities themed "Optimizing the Role of the Stakeholders Towards a Green Pekanbaru".
“1000 Tree Planting Movement with the name “Green Campus based on conservation and Malay culture”, specifically there are four goals that we want to achieve, firstly, to instill conservation values in the UR academic community, especially the Postgraduate Program, second support the policy Green Campus. Third increasing the participation of various parties to support environmental protection and management, especially in Pekanbaru City, and fourth "To plant 1000 trees in the UR environment," explained Dr. Suwondo MSi, as the Head of the Organizing Team for the activity.
Furthermore, as the organizer of this series of 1000 tree planting activities, we will hold a public lecture scheduled to be delivered by the Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri), General Tito Karnavian. "In our agenda, which will be held on March 2, 2017, UR will hold a public lecture for UR Postgraduate Program students. Which, through his presence, will hopefully broaden the insight of the students who will attend," explained the Head of UR's Environmental Studies Center added.
"Hopefully, this activity will be a means for all of us to bring significant benefits and further demonstrate our support for environmental preservation. We hope that all of our ongoing activities will proceed as planned," Suwondo added. (wendi) ***
