unri. ac.id To become a professional nurse and truly serve the community, as many as 212 graduates of the Faculty of Nursing (FKp) Universitas Riau (Unri) carried out the Nursing Oath for Class XXIV and the Release of Bachelor of Nursing Class XXVI, consisting of Bachelor of Nursing as many as 114 people and the Nurse Profession Program as many as 98 people.

“Everyone who graduates from the professional level before entering the workforce is required to take an oath as a nurse. This is a form of commitment for nurses when they are in the field. Through this commitment, nurses are truly professional in carrying out their duties and are responsible for themselves, their profession, and their God.” This is what the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, FKp Unri, Wan Nishfa Dewi SKp MNg PhD said in front of the graduates of the Faculty of Nursing who were sworn in.

“The presence of nurses has an important meaning in an effort to realize the optimal quality of health services. Its role has a significant influence, especially in participating in supporting the productivity of a nation which has implications for improving the quality of life and welfare,” said Wan Nishfa.

“A career as a nurse or nurse is a noble and honorable career choice. A nurse does not only provide actions that are purely medical in nature, but also must be able to interact with full empathy for the patients she treats. So that patients feel comfortable in the treatment process they are undergoing, and this is certainly a contributing factor in accelerating their health recovery, “explained Wan Nishfa.

“Graduates from the nursing profession can work as nurses in clinics, hospitals and at Pukesmas. Nurses can also be researchers and are usually continued to higher education levels through Strata One (S1) and Strata Two (S2) programs or specializations. We at Unri are very happy if nurses take higher knowledge and can take part as lecturers in FKp, "he hoped.

This activity was held at the Susiana Tabrani Convention Hall, At Tabrani Islamic Center Complex, Thursday (10/10/2019) and was led by the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, FKp Unri. “Taking this oath is the final stage of the struggle of graduates as nurses who have received education in college. Therefore, the oath was made as a form of graduate responsibility as a nurse.”

This oath taking aims to carry out the responsibilities of the nursing profession to graduates so that when exposed directly to the community, graduates can become responsible nurses. “I hope to be like a banyan tree that can be a shelter and a place to lean on for people in need and waiting for their presence by others, as well as lifelong learning wherever they are. The best learning is teaching for others," he hoped. (wendi. photo: roger) ***
