unri.ac.id Collaboration and cooperation between higher education institutions are always ongoing. This collaboration and cooperation was carried out by the University of Riau (UNRI) and the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Batusangkar through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Grand Jatra Hotel Pekanbaru on Thursday (January 28, 2021).
UNRI Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Aras Mulyadi DEA, stated that this MoU aims to improve the quality of education and simultaneously realize the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. "At this time, one of the collaborations that will be maximized is a program that supports Independent Learning and Independent Campus. Going forward, collaboration between universities cannot be neglected; it is a basic necessity. Universities cannot rely solely on internal strength," said the Rector.
"Through this collaboration, UNRI lecturers can also teach at IAIN Batusangkar, and vice versa. UNRI students can participate in study programs or take specific courses at IAIN Batusangkar, and vice versa. Beyond education, collaboration is also possible in terms of community service and collaborative research. We certainly hope that our scientific development process can be mutually citational," the Chancellor added.
The Chancellor further stated that this reflects the dynamics of knowledge and technology in improving Indonesian higher education. We are not competing, but rather working together to create progress in Indonesian higher education.
On the same occasion, Dr. Marjoni Imamora, MSc, Rector of IAIN Batusangkar, stated that this meeting was a form of collaboration between universities. Each institution must expand cooperation in various fields, especially in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. "We hope this collaboration can be long-term and beneficial for improving the quality of education," he explained.
This MoU is a form of official cooperation between UNRI and IAIN Batusangkar in realizing the Independent Learning Independent Campus program in accordance with the direction of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia (Mendikbud) Towards Independent, Creative, and Competitive Learning People.
"Each institution must expand its collaboration in various areas, especially in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
