Unrinews, Riau University (UNRI) hosted the athlete send-off event for the Indonesian Student Sports Supervisory Agency (BAPOMI) of Riau Province as part of the Road to the 2025 National Student Sports Week (POMNAS) in Central Java, held in the Siak Sri Indrapura Room, 4th Floor, UNRI Rectorate Building. The event took place solemnly and was attended by the leadership of BAPOMI Riau, representatives of sponsors, and the athletes who would compete.
In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Alumni of UNRI and Chair of BAPOMI Riau, Prof. Dr. Hermandra MA delivered a motivational message to all athletes.
"You're no longer from different places, because you all represent Riau together. Thank you again to the provincial government, sponsors, coaches, and all the children who will compete. Come on, let's make Riau Province proud," he said.
And in line with Prof. Hermandra, welcoming remarks were also given by Rinov Eka Mondri SSTP MSi, Head of Sports Achievement Cultivation Division, Riau Youth and Sports Agency.
"Maintain sportsmanship and uphold the values of fair play during the competition. Always focus on the game and stay healthy. We are confident that, with your hard work and the prayers of the entire Riau community, blessings will accompany your match there," he said.
The event was also attended by representatives of sponsors, including IM3, Bank Riau Kepri, and Riau Petroleum, who provided support by covering the athletes' transportation and accommodation costs. As a symbol of the send-off, the Chair of BAPOMI Riau and the Head of Sports Achievement Cultivation of the Riau Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora Riau) put on the contingent's jackets to the athlete representatives, which was then followed by a group photo with the BAPOMI Riau leadership, sponsors, and athletes.
The activity ended with a technical explanation of the departure by the Treasurer of BAPOMI Riau and Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni of the Faculty of Nursing, UNRI, Ns Safri MKep Sp Kep MB.
With the spirit of togetherness and full support from various parties, it is hoped that the BAPOMI Riau athletes can achieve brilliant achievements and bring honor to Riau Province at POMNAS 2025. (Nico, Photo: Budi)
