In order to capture the interest of students who want to continue their education to a higher level, the University of Riau (UR) opens the acceptance of new UR student candidates for the 2017/2018 Academic Year by carrying out the UR Independent Path exam, Thursday, (27/7) in several Faculties which is in UR.
Head of the UR Academic and Student Affairs Bureau, Azhar Kasymi SH, said that the opening of the independent pathway examination was carried out considering that many prospective students wanted to enter UR. "In addition to the many enthusiasts who wish to continue their studies at UR, with the capacity of UR which is still open in several faculties, including the Faculty of Economics (FE), Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Faculty of Engineering (FT), and Nursing Studies (PSIK)”.

Previously, the admission of new students had been carried out a few months ago. Acceptance of prospective students in question is acceptance through the written national admissions path, namely the Joint Selection for State University Admission (SBMPTN), National Selection for State University Admission (SNMPTN), and the Regional Superior Seed Search (PBUD) admissions path.
Furthermore, Azhar, said that there are three Faculties and one Nursing Science Study Program that is provided for prospective students to choose, with the education level of Diploma Three (D3) and Transfer of D3 to Strata One (S-1).
In the implementation of this self-examination, there were 1741 participants who took part, with the test locations being held in four locations, namely the FE, FMIPA, FT, and PSIK campuses.

"We know that there are so many applicants for UR, but we are trying to give them the opportunity with the path we have prepared. Therefore, this opportunity should be used for prospective students to be serious in taking the entrance exam, because after all the ability of the participants must be proven by passing the exam results, "explained Azhar.
Indeed, in the test, there was a competition for prospective participants to take the available seats, and it was intended for those who passed the test. "In this independent path, only 573 students are accepted, namely the Faculty of Economics 240 students, FMIPA 20 students, Faculty of Engineering 273 students, and PSIK 40," explained Azhar.
"The committee evaluates objectively, the graduation results are determined by a written exam carried out by prospective participants, because it is from their efforts to do the exam questions in order to pass the admissions, not someone else," explained the Student Affairs and UR Bureau.
