Program Studi Diploma III Akuntansi adalah salah satu program studi di Jurusan Akuntansi Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Riau yang mana mulai menyelenggarakan kegiatan akademik pada bulan September 1995. Pada tanggal 9 Mei 1996, Program Studi Diploma III Akuntansi memperoleh izin pendirian dari Dirjen Dikti Debdikbud RI dengan diterbitkannya Surat Keputusan Dirjen Dikti Depdikbud RI Nomor 131/Dikti/Kep/1996.Program studi telah diakreditasi oleh Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi dengan Akreditasi A.Sistem penyelenggaraan pendidikan di Program Studi Diploma III Akuntansi dilaksanakan dengan dasar Sistem Kredit Semester sesuai dengan Surat Keputusan Mendikbud RI No.0211/V/1982 dan No. 212/V/1982 serta Surat Keputusan Direktorat Jendral Pendidikan Tinggi Nomor 048/DJ/Kep/1982.
Proses perkuliahan dilakukan selama 3 tahun atau 6 semester dengan menerima calon mahasiswa lulusan SLTA / Sederajat.Proses belajar mengajar dilakukan berbasis multimedia dengan kurikulum yang aplikatif/terapan, dilengkapi dengan Laboratorium Komputer, Laboratorium Akuntansi / Komputer Akuntansi dan Laboratorium Perpajakan yang diselengarakan baik manual maupun komputerisasi. Pada semester akhir mahasiswa juga akan melakukan praktek kerja lapangan diperusahaan-perusahaan / instansi sesuai bidangnya. Lulusan program studi ini akan memiliki kompetensi khusus bidang pelaporan keuangan dan perpajakan serta dilengkapi dengan kompetensi softskill sehingga lulusannya diharapkan akan memiliki sikap mental yang independen, mampu berkomunikasi dalam kerjanya, dan beretika serta kemampuan berwirausaha. Dengan demikian lulusan program studi ini dapat bekerja di perusahaan-perusahaan swasta, instansi pemerintah, maupun menjadi wirausaha yang sukses.
Given the importance of the role of accounting in various industrial fields, graduates of the Diploma III Accounting Study Program at UNRI have wide career opportunities as corporate accounting technicians in various industrial sectors, including services, retail, manufacturing and government agencies. In addition, graduates can also have a career as an accounting technician in the field of auditing, taxation, and as entrepreneurs (entrepreneurs).
New Student Admissions (PMB) University of Riau for the Undergraduate (S1) and Diploma (D3) programs are held through five selection patterns, namely: Computer Based Test (CBT), Report-Based Selection (Siber), Student Achievement Search (PSB), and Hafiz Search Qur'an (PHA), Search for Young Leaders (PPM), PMB Bersama.

The minimum estimated cost is the calculation result of the lowest Catur Darma Fund value in the related study program plus the value of Tuition (Fixed and Variable) in that study program.
The estimated maximum cost is the calculation result of the highest Catur Darma Fund value in the related study program plus the value of Tuition (Fixed and Variable) in that study program.
The Catur Darma scores listed in the table do not apply to applicants who take the Cyber FK Mandiri and CBT From Home FK Mandiri selection paths.
Prediction of Non-Exact Study Period 3.5 years and Exact 4 years.
Tuition (Fixed and Variable) is paid annually and is paid in 4 installments.
For the Undergraduate Study Program (S1), the estimated tuition costs do not include the cost of KKN, Thesis, Pendadaran.
For Diploma Study Programs (D3), the estimated tuition costs do not include the costs of the Final Project, Admission, and PKL Report Presentation.
Especially for the Doctoral Education Undergraduate Study Program, the estimated tuition costs do not include the rates for KKN, Thesis, Pendadaran, and the Cost of the Clinical Education Stage.
The rates for KKN, Final Projects, Thesis, Admissions, and PKL Report Presentations will be calculated according to the rates set in the year of implementation.
