unri.ac.id University of Riau Bridge Club (Unri-URBC) Unri Student Activity Unit (UKM), held the 2019 Rector Cup Bridge Tournament , Saturday and Sunday (2-3/11/2019) in the Hall of the Unri Rectorate Building. This activity aims to improve achievement and contribute to the development of bridge sports at Unri.
The Chief Executive of the activity, Regina Dwita Andjani, said that in general, this bridge can be used as a place to compete, to make healthy achievements, to build friendships and to instill a high sense of sportsmanship.
"This Bridge Tournament is Unri's real effort in supporting the breeding program, coaching and maturation of the achievements of bridge sports athletes at Unri and building positive public opinion about bridge sport as a means of education in families and communities," he explained.
This tournament, continued Regina, was attended by participants consisting of 21 teams, of which 15 general and junior teams, 6 teams in the kids category. Participants came from the province of West Sumatra which consisted of Padang Panjang, Sawahlunto, Bukittinggi, Padang Pariaman, Padang, Batam and Palembang.
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Alumni Prof Dr Iwantono MPhil, expressed his appreciation for this activity. Iwantono hopes that this activity will become an annual event at Unri and can be included in the Annual RKKL at Unri.
"The Unri CUP Rector Bridge Tournament event is one of the efforts to restore the glory of the bridge at the University of Riau and improve the achievements of the Unri bridge , we hope that in the future this bridge can enter the National Student Sports Week (POMNAS) in 2021," he hoped.
